The National Sports Council

Dear friends of The National Golf Brussels,
We had our first full season and just completes the calendar for 2019. Our new program promises a great year for all: from beginners to advanced golfers, from pure fun on the course to the exciting competition at the interclubs. I wish you an excellent year at The National Golf Brussels.
My team remains at your disposal. You can find all the captain below in their respective sections.

Chris Vermeulen
Captain
My name is Christiaan Vermeulen, 51, and I am the Club Captain. Together with my wife, also a member of our club, I am a passionate father of 2 daughters and a golf fanatic. I love the sport. I am professionally active as general manager of an IT Consultancy company. Above all proud to be allowed to build on the growth of our beautiful club, The National, almost literally in my backyard: born in Moorsel (Tervuren) and now living in Wezembeek-Oppem. The National Golf Brussels is located between both. I stand at the head of our sports council and happy to serve all our members and visitors, to give them as much fun as possible.

Frédéric Raison
Men's Captain
My name is Frederik Raison, 51 years young, and since a little over a year Men's captain on "The National". After almost 30 years of hockey, I started playing golf in 1998. My transfer from Cleydael to The National was self-evident, as I now live 10 minutes away from the course. Which also allows me to make my favorite hobby at will. In addition to golf, I also play tennis occasionally, but especially in a family setting. I have 2 sons who are also sporty but do not share the hobby of their father. For 30 years I have been active in the fashion sector and I run a German fashion brand for the Belux market. As Men's captain I am a member of the sports council but I also actively participate in the men's working group of Golf Vlaanderen. The men's days take place every 14 days on Friday. I hope to meet you all at one of the events at The National.

Marc Stellfeld
Seniors' Captain
Most of you know me as Seniors' Captain, but however I want to introduce myself, Marc Stellfeld, 67 years old, resident in Sterrebeek, born in Antwerp, living with Corinne, very happy to be retired since 2 years, passionated by golf since 1991, engaged since 2016 into " The National Golf Belgium" and last year nominated as your responsible. My whole life had I the chance and the opportunity to meet people from different nationalities, opinions, languages, ... and this all allowed me to be open for others, and to learn form the differences between all of us, to search for a compromis in Belgian fashion, just the characteristic feature of our club.

Kristin Haine
Ladies Captain
My name is Kristin Haine, a degree in physical education, 57 years old and playing 6 years of golf. Sport is an important part of my life. I used to do athletics at a high level, afterwards I played tennis for years, but due to a knee injury I started playing golf and that suits me very well. For 10 years I have been chairwoman of a primary and kindergarten, accounting for almost 700 children. I have grown and built a lot there. Now I want to build a good working for the ladies in our starting golf club. Hopefully all "ladies" want to contribute to this. Together with our other captains I try to get the best for our "ladies", so golf can be a pleasure for both beginners and good hcp players.

Jacques Saint Remy
Junior Captain
My name is Jacques Saint-Remi. I have been a Junior Captain since the end of 2017. I have been a member of The National Golf Brussels since 2016, as well as my wife Claire. We have two big kids who are hockey players and not (yet?) Golfers. I was Youth Leaser and then President of a hockey club in the Brussels region, before going into golf. My professional career has been in the IT and telecommunications sectors. My ambition as Captain of Juniors at The National Golf Brussels is to develop activities for young people, boys and girls, up to 18 years: to offer the best a framework where they can develop their talents to the maximum, and for all the juniors, a nice place to practice in a friendly way our beautiful sport.

Ivan Duncan
Marshall
I am Ivan Duncan, happily married with two children and two grandchildren. Which my grandson also plays golf and my granddaughter works as a student at The National. I am your Head Marshall, living in Zaventem, close to my favorite golf club. Because of my Scottish roots I am possessed by the beast. I have been playing golf for more than 20 years. I spend most of my free time at The National, where I try to lead competitions in good jobs with my fellow Marshalls. I am looking forward to take on this task.

Jacques Boutelier
Sport Secretary
It's been 44 years since I contracted the golf bug on the magnificent links of Royal Ostend G.C. The contracted virus was so virulent that golf became my profession. In 1980 I started importing golfer's equipment and golf course material and in 1983 I opened the first store in Belgium exclusively dedicated to golf. From 1987 I also invested myself as a golf manager ("Secretary of Golf" as it was said at the time) by launching the Golf Château de la Tournette. Then the vagaries of the job did that I had the opportunity to work as a manager in other beautiful golf courses in Belgium (Golf de Durbuy, Five Nations Golf Club, Royal Antwerp GC ...) and France (Golf d'Apremont) , Blue Green Chantilly Golf). I am very happy and proud to be able to finish, as Sport Secretary, my career at the superb The National Golf Brussels.
